Classy Kuala Lumpur

I am currently enjoying a rather marvellous jaunt around Malaysia. Half vacation half delivery of a stunning little Birkin to one of my regular clients. It’s such a joy to leave the grey of London and fly due South to the warm seas and vibrant colours that are Kuala Lumpur. This city is not often on the European travellers’ radar but it really should be. Kuala Lumpur is seething with culture and fantastic hidden treasures, I always find myself desperate for another week or so here.

Alas this time I’m in and out after my heavenly vay-cay on the island of Lankawai. I’m meeting with a truly classic beauty. Of Chinese origin, my client came to Malaysia many moons ago and has a beautiful regal way about her despite the hustle and bustle of this crazy city. Always impeccably dressed she has flare and style which fuse perfectly, especially when she adds her favourite Hermès to the mix. This time a punchy little Birkin in rose lipstick togo with palladium hardware has caught her eye. A proper stand-alone number, she wears it with a slick all black pant suit and sky rise heels. In her own words: ‘my Birkin makes me shine’! And she certainly does!

We head to Tate for an early evening cocktail. I’m feeling rather scruffy in my London get-up after seeing the glamourous women that frequent this fab little bar. A luxury brand mecca with stunningly elegant ladies sipping martini into the early hours. Luckily my Hermès fetish fits right in despite my rather practical Liberty print Nikes and I am soon welcomed into the KL chic scene.

The next morning, with a slight cocktail fuzz, I hit my must-shop Kuala Lumpur fave. Pavilion is a mall with more than 500 outlets and I always find a fantastic luxe piece alongside fab souvenirs for friends at home.

Once again sad to leave this city I head home. Then again London always feels fresh on return and I’m ready for a new week and perhaps a quick trip to the continent…. Ciao!
